Woodhouse Primary Academy
Project overview
Woodhouse Primary Academy is based in County Durham and forms part of Advance Learning Partnership. Following an introduction from BTG Eddisons, the school engaged Energys Group to upgrade its existing internal and external lighting with modern, energy-efficient LED fittings.
The project involved a complete point-for-point upgrade of 258 lighting fittings, with products tailored to suit the needs of individual rooms and spaces. With just one week available before the new school year, Energys carefully planned the installation around the school’s wider programme of works and completed the project over three nights, with the upgraded lighting ready for the start of term. The project is expected to deliver annual energy savings of 28,774 kWh and reduce carbon emissions by 5.96 tCO₂e.
Outcomes
- Improved lighting quality across the school, with fittings selected to suit different rooms and spaces.
- Minimal disruption to the school, with the installation completed outside normal school hours and around other works taking place on site.
- A smooth transition into the new school year, with the upgraded lighting ready for staff and pupils when the school reopened.
- A flexible delivery approach that adapted to a shortened installation window and the school’s changing requirements.
